Karl Paterson
Instructor Profile :
Sensei Karl Paterson started training Karate in 1986; He was part of the then K.U.W (Karate Union of Wales) under Chief Instructor Mike O Brien and Maesteg club Sensei Barrie Lewis.
Nine years later in 1995 he gained his 1st Dan and in 2006 his 2nd Dan both from the W.K.U chief instructor: - Sensei Paul Watson.
Karl is now a senior instructor with the Welsh Karate Union.
The Welsh Karate Union are full members of the Welsh Karate Governing Body and recognised by the Sports Council for Wales.
He has gone on to achieve his Level 2 Coaching Award, First Aid, Child Protection and Kumite Coaches certificates.
Karl has be fortunate to have trained with some of Britain’s top instructors such as Sensei Dave Hazard, Sensei Aidan Trimble, Sensei Wayne Otto, Sensei Billy Higgins and Sensei Steven Wellington to name but a few.
Now having for the last 5 years trained solely under Sensei Paul Watson, sensei Karl has gained confidence and experience enough to in 2005 open the Bryncethin club Under the association, the club is in Ogmore Comprehensive School’s dual use site at Bryncethin.
