2010 International Shobu-Ippon Shotokan Open Championships
This tournament saw competitors come from various parts of Europe to enter, what is now one of the most prestigeous events.

The WKU squad
consisted of:- Jon Hallett, Matthew Lloyd, Wayne Thomas, Karl Paterson, Gareth Rowe, Peter Barnwell, Paula Jones, Andrew "bear" Evans, Paul Hooper, Cody Lear, Richard Powell, Katy Hallett, Owen Claracoats and Chelsea Maule.
All of our squad members competed at the highest level, and did the WKU proud.
Andrew "bear" Evans came away with Gold in the orange-purple belt kumite catogory.
In the association senior mens team kumite event we took silver place.
The team consisted of:- Jon Hallett, Wayne Thomas, Matthew Lloyd, Peter Barnwell, Gareth Rowe and Karl Paterson.

2009 Welsh Karate Governing Championships
Saturday 23rd May saw the Welsh Karate Governing Championships which was held at the Welsh Institute of Sport, Cardiff. The WKU had competitors which are pictured below. They all competed to an extremely high standard and we are all proud of their performances winning may medals.

2009 Legend Shotokan Open International
On Saturday 7th March in Bracknell, Berkshire was the Legend championships. This annual event had competitors come from various countries. The WKU was represented by John Hallett, Matthew Lloyd, Peter Barnwell, Lee Ockwell, Tyrone McFarlane and Andrew McCormick. They all competed to an extremely high standard and we are all proud of their performance.
